Wednesday Night Race Series
Race Series Breakdown
Here’s a peak ahead to this summer’s planned race series. Event details are subject to change. Be sure to check out the latest news post for the most up to date info.
Wednesday, May 22nd
Racer Check In: 5:45 – 6:45
Race Starts: 7pm
The year kicks off with our annual Mud’n’Mayham course which covers some of the quicker spring drying areas of the trail system. While most single track areas of the course will be decently dry be prepared to get a little muddy on some of the wetter double track sections!
Dash for the cash! Be the first person in your category (men and women separately) to reach the top of hydro hill and win cold hard cash. There will be a marshall at the top of hydro hill tracking racers 1-3 for each category and the winners will be announced during awards post race.
As the race takes place early in the riding season the fallback race date is May 29th. If the race course is still too muddy we will notify racers of the date change by May 15th.
Registration closes midnight May 21st

The Bailey Cup
As part of last year’s 25th anniversary we created a race within a race, named after one of our founding members Eric Bailey. The name also pays homage to other founding members, his brothers Adam and Dylan. The Bailey Cup consists of two races (XC#3 & XC#7) raced over the same course. The racers with the fastest cumulative time between the two races will win the Bailey Cup!
This will be a fun opportunity for people to see how well they stack up against themselves and others as the season progresses.
The race heads out into Shuniah and then does multiple laps within Shuniah before heading back to the finish at Trowbridge. Elite will complete two inner loops. You must count your own laps, there will NOT be a lap countdown on course.

Wednesday, July 3rd
Racer Check In: 5:45 – 6:45
Race Start: 7pm
XC race #5 was originally scheduled to be our annual time trial however, due to construction on the bridge by Portal/Hydro Hill we are unable to run the Lambatuer’s separate time trial. In light of the situation we have decided to replace this year’s Time Trial with a Short Track in Kinsmen Field!
If you are not familiar with the Short Track discipline, the race takes place on a short course where riders complete multiple laps with either a set amount of time or set amount of laps dictating the end of the race. Races run as either a mass start or in waves depending on the amount of riders within each category.
We will be running our Short Track by category with larger categories having separate waves to limit the number of racers on the track at a single time. As the Short Track course is harder to create in Trailforks please see the graphic below for a breakdown of the course.
Registration closes at midnight on Tuesday July 2nd!

Wednesday, July 24th
Racer Check In: 5:45 – 6:45
Race Start: 7pm
As we enter the heart of the summer we transition from a multi-lap race course structure to a couple single lap races starting with The Tour De Shuniah! Which is a one lap race that covers a wide variety of our trail system from fast flowy trails to more challenging technical trails. The course is a great way to experience racing on some of our trail systems’ less raced areas!
Registration closes midnight July 23rd

A fun (for all ages) team-based short track relay in the field at Kinsmen Park/Trowbridge. Usually the prizes are for best and worst costumes but with this being Blacksheep’s 25th anniversary this year the prizes will be for best retro gear!
The event is free to all members with the exception of bringing a cheesy prize to exchange with another racer. As always there will be a table in the field to drop off your cheesy prize and see what others have brought!
Registration closes midnight August 6th
To be determined
No advanced registration required
In this friendly, non-timed event, riders will ride around to different stations on the trails to collect playing cards to assemble their ‘poker hand’. The best (and worst) hands win! A BBQ picnic will follow. This is a FREE event just for Blacksheep members and is for riders of all ages and all skill levels so bring your kids and parents, your pals and your neighbours!
More details will be announced closer to the date.
This summer we will be hosting a Shuniah style enduro series, hitting all of the best descents our trail system has to offer. The event is open to all members who have purchased the Enduro Series add-on with their membership and will focus on riding mainly blue and black downhill sections of trails. The stages will be timed but the overall pace will be relaxed.
If you did not purchase the Enduro Series add-on with your registration use the following webscorer upgrade option to sign up!
