Race #7 – XC Enduro Presented by Heartbeat Hot Sauce
On Wednesday August 31st we are switching racing styles from our traditional XC race courses to a four stage XC style Enduro. We first tested this type of race back in 2019 and have not been able to add it to the schedule the last two years so we are super excited to give it a second go!

Our version of Enduro will have a little bit more of an XC feel as we unfortunately do not have the elevation of places like Whistler. The race will be similar to a time trial but you will only be timed on the “downhill” portions of the trails. There will be no timing when moving between stages so riders are free to move at their own pace and rest up for the faster sections of trail.
The pre-race meeting will take place in Kinsmen Park as usual, then riders will make their way to the first stage of the race. The starting order will be based on fastest to slowest but there will not be an official start list as riders will be able to self seed when they make it to the start of each stage. Thanks to Precambrian Trails and the club’s trail committee the first stage of the Enduro will start from the highest point on the newly completed Lookout Trail! From there the stages are as follows:
2. Road to Hell
3. Drift
4. Back half of Lookout Trail, through the East West Connector, onto the last section of Conveyor Belt, finishing back in the Kinsmen Park field
Wednesday August 31st
Sign-in and plate pick-up: 5:30 – 6:30pm (all racers must sign in – Note the earlier sign in). For everyone that has a plate you will be reusing it for this race.
First start time is 7:15pm at the top of the Lookout Trail
Must be a Blacksheep member to participate
Free for Racing Members. $10/race for General Members. Maximum of 2 races on a general membership before a full racing membership is required

Lambateur:
Lambs will ascend Martti’s Hill as a group then race stage 1 of the enduro. They will then ride as a group back to Kinsmen Park. If you have any questions about the lambs race please reach out to Ben via rides@blacksheepmtb.com
Volunteers:
As this race involves multiple stages with individual timing we are going to need a few more volunteers than normal! We will need both marshals to help direct people to and from stages and people to assist with timing. We are going to need around 10-14 volunteers to help make this race a success.
