Spring Classic Festival:
After a 2 year hiatus, the Spring Classic is back on June 11th, and to celebrate we are offering a little something for all our members/supporters. Starting at 11am we will kick off the event with race #2 of the Heartbeat Hotsauce Race Series. With 4 different categories it will offer seasoned racers or those new to MTBing a chance to enjoy the thrill of racing. Next up, and for the first time in Blacksheep’s history, we will be offering a trail run (approx 5km) as part of the Festival. While we aren’t a running club, or looking to become one, this is our chance to give back to those who support us and will be free for all members, including trail supporters. Following those events there will be a BBQ starting at 12:00, and of course some prizes, awards and bicycle games including bike Limbo! We really hope to see all our members/supporters at the event. Registration will close for the event Thursday June 9th at midnight.
A few details:
– We repeat registration deadline is Thursday June 9th at Midnight. We understand this is different than previous years but the newer more accurate timing system requires a little more preparation time than years past.
– Please take your time when you are registering to make sure the details are correct. We had a couple timing issues that stemmed from people registering in the wrong category or inputting the wrong gender. So double check!
– every category will be racing a different number of laps. Elite-3 laps; Advanced-2 laps; Sport-1 lap; Lambateur – 1 lap
– We will have brand new merch for sale including enduro jerseys ($65), ball caps ($30)
– We need about 10 more volunteers to make this event happen. Please email mrkeithailey@gmail.com if you can help. There are lots of different roles. Course marshals, helping with games, timing and registration, venue set-up, selling merchandise, course take-down, helping with the food, etc…
– Make sure you remember to bring your number plate (if you have one from Race #1)
– There may not be enough parking in the Kinsmen parking lot. If you need to park on the short access road that goes out towards Copenhagen, please ONLY use ONE side. We cannot have vehicles on both sides of that road. There is also some additional parking on Copenhagen on the paved turn-around area between the highway and the Trowbridge access road.
– The BBQ meal is free for all BlackSheep club members. $5.00 for non-members
