The Blacksheep want to give a huge thank you to Catalyst Coaching and SportLab and to the athletes that taught in the skills clinic last week! The event was a huge success, and we look forward to seeing more skills clinics within the club in the future.
Additionally, some of our flock was out racing abroad this past weekend. Congratulations to the Hamms who competed in the Cuyuna Crusher on Sunday August 20! Emile Hamm finished 14th in the Elite Category, while our XC Director, Gerald Hamm, finished 25th in the Sport Category; 4th in his age group. Great job guys! Check out the results to the event.
Wednesday August 23 — Rescheduled XC#7 Kinsmen Pursuit (Stage 2)
We’re hoping that no thunderstorms will rain our parade, because this Wednesday is the rain date for XC#7! For course description and information about this event, follow the link.
Note: Unfortunately, we were unable to find volunteers to commit to organizing the Race for the Cheese Social event this year so it is cancelled this season. We are truly sorry for the disappointment this causes and hope this will be remedied next season.
Saturday August 26 — Trail Development Day
If anyone is interested in learning about how the trails you love to ride are made, and are particularly interested in trail features, this one is for you. Stay tuned for more info.
Tuesday August 29 — Women’s Only Group Ride
Due to popular demand, we have added an additional Women’s Only Group Ride event to the Blacksheep schedule! Stay tuned for more information coming up within the week.
September may be fast approaching, but we still have a lot of opportunities to ride cross-country before the snow forces us to change our wheel sizes and to break out the skis. If you haven’t looked into what your riding plans are this September, make sure you register for the Shuniah 40 Miner event!
In the meantime, enjoy the rest of summer, ride your bike, and happy riding!
