Saturday May 13th we will be holding our first Trail Development Day of the season!
I know everyone is anxiously awaiting the trails to open up this spring so we can get out and shred, but in the meantime why not come out and put in a little sweat equity and help ensure the trails are in tip-top shape when they do finally dry out! The Trail Development committee has been hard at work all winter planning for this upcoming season. Add in the work completed with the fine folks at the city parks department on the new master plan and we are setting up 2017 to be the biggest year EVER for trail in Thunder Bay!
What’s the plan you ask?
We will be meeting at the Shuniah Mines trail access point on the north side of the expressway at 10am. For those planning on attending make sure to bring work gloves , water and wear clothes that you don’t mind getting a little dirty in. As far as other things to bring, if you have tools great! Picks, shovels and rakes are the weapons of choice for this project. Don’t worry if you don’t have any tools, the club has selection to work with. Oh and new to this season, anyone can attend these build days!
What’s the project?
Well we don’t want to let the cat out of the bag quite yet, but it’s big, it’s new, and it’s really ambitious so we need a ton of help! If you want to find out more about it, you’ll have to come out and see!
