IT’S BEEN GETTING PRETTY QUIET.
No one in this club ever enjoys the word “quiet”.
We think some people are still under the impression that this is just a typical BS event, which it is anything but! Not only is it completely separate in terms of race format and distance, it’s also got REMARKABLY MORE PRIZES!! We’re not talking just more water bottles and socks (which there are), we’re talking BIG. Really BIG. Your odds of walking away with a prize are higher than at almost any other BS event. We’ll post pictures shortly.
THE LAST DAY TO REGISTER FOR THE FORTY MINER IS SEPTEMBER 22ND! For insurance and timing reasons, we can’t sign you up on the day of the event. You’ll need to register by MIDNIGHT of SEPTEMBER 22ND if you want to race with us on SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 24TH at 11 AM! Information on registering is available here. If you don’t register by the 22nd, you’ll have to add a one year extension to your training regime in order to podium next year!
Lastly, volunteers. We need a lot. We’ll need between 5-8 course marshals and various others at the start/finish line. Want an awesome view of the race, and get to sit outside all day? All you’ve got to do is make sure riders stay on the marked course and that other pedestrians and cyclists are aware of the race going on! Most of the event work has been done by your VP Mark and a small handful of others, but we need manpower on the 24th.
If you’ve got any questions or concerns, or want to volunteer to help, don’t hesitate to send us a message on Facebook or an email at firstname.lastname@example.org. We can’t wait to hear from you!
