Try something totally different at our next social group ride – Bike Orienteering!
Here is how it works: A set of 10 orienteering controls will be placed throughout the Shuniah/Centennial Park/Trowbridge trail system. You get a map showing where the controls are placed on the trails. The idea is to find as many of the controls as you can within an hour. At each control, a unique punch is used to mark your map to prove you found the location. You can take any route you like including any shortcuts through the bush that may (or may not) be quicker.
If you are not that familiar with the trails, it would be a good idea to partner up with a knowledgeable rider. For those who want to “race”, we will time departures/finishes to determine who finds all of the controls the quickest.
Last year was the first year that the Blacksheep ran an orienteering event and it was absolutely a blast! We heard lots of great feedback from the small group that showed up. We’re really hoping to expand on our crowd this year, so come alone or bring a team, and get ready to put your knowledge of our trail system to the test!
