Welcome to the Information page for the CanAm Police Games mountain biking event.
The event is over a variety of terrain in Thunder Bay’s most popular mountain biking venue – Centennial Park/Shuniah Mines. It will be a mix of double track, twisting flowy single track, and some intermediate climbs and descents. All riders will complete 2 laps of the course. Each lap is approximately 9 Km (or 5 miles) in length.
Registration for the race opens at 8am, Friday July 22 adjacent to the start line at Trowbridge. You will be given your race plate to be attached to the front of your bike with provided zip ties. Volunteers will collect the plates as you cross the finish line. Note that CanAm Games participants need to register for the entire week beforehand at Lakehead University (see CanAm Registration).
Once everyone has completed the race awards will presented on site. Full results will be available on line via blacksheepmtb.com and also provided to the Games Organizing Committee for posting.
Mountain Biking events are typically cancelled only when 1) dangerous conditions such as lighting or high winds exist, or 2) if there is so much rain that trails will be damaged. If there is moderate rain, the show will go on.
For our local volunteers, please check in with the registration desk at 8am. Once the event is complete, please check out also. We don’t want to lose anyone marshaling in the bush. If you are helping with course flagging, you need to be on site at 7am.
Location of the Event
The start and finish locations, and registration for the event will be at the Trowbridge Falls Campground parking lot (aka Kinsmen Park). “X” marks the spot on the map below, or do a location search for “Trowbridge Falls Campground” on your smartphone to find your way.
