DH #1 Race Info
Our next race event features the city’s newest outdoor activity area! On Wednesday Jun 10 come hang out with your fellow sheepers at Loch Lomond for some Downhill action. Race registration and shuttle service starts at 5PM. A pre-race course inspection is recommended. The race course will be open for hike-a-bike inspection from now until race day for anyone who would like to get some practice in.
THERE WILL BE A $10 ADDITIONAL FEE PER RACER, this fee is additional to any BlackSheep fees and will be collected at registration. This goes towards covering Loch Lomonds costs for our evening of fun.
Sport, Advanced and Elite will all ride the full course from top to bottom. Any jumps, drops or more difficult sections of trail offer a slower ride-around route which allows the racer to safely complete the course at their own pace.
A Lambateur race course will be offered as well, this course will start on the landing of the jump at the bottom of the Maple. It will follow the race course towards the chicken and then proceed left into a short (100m) single track section (similar in difficulty to the 2k loop in Shuniah mines). The course will continue through the trees exit onto the birch to the finish. There are no drops or jumps in the lambateur course.
FRONT AND REAR BRAKES ARE MANDATORY ON ALL BIKES
You MUST be a BlackSheep member before 11:59PM on Tuesday to be able to race, you will NOT be able to become a member at the race. Here (http://blacksheepmtb.com/membership/) is the link to the Ontario Cycling Association where you can fill out the required forms.
The race course is the same as last years and will consist of a best of 2 race format
If anyone is able to volunteer we will need several course marshals on the hill, please email firstname.lastname@example.org if you are able to help out.
